Ralph and Peg Merritt

Chess Box Photos - A collection of old photos kept in a big box that had a big chess set in it. The oldest were from 1902, pictures of Mary and Monte Northrup. Mary is my grandmother. Most recent ones were of Michael at about the same age. Also included are vacations from the 1920s and 1930s, beaches and camps, navy pictures from the 1940s, Levittown in the 1950s, wedding pictures of Joyce and Cherry, and grandma & pa's vacation out West.

Ralph's War Diary - The diary my father kept during his tour in the Pacific on the ocean going tug, U.S.S. Chetco. Some interesting stories about hitching to Houston and missing the bus back, leaving the ship without leave in Panama, fear of submarines, and constant yearning for Peg.

Ralph's War Diary Digest - Selected passages from the diary plus maps and photos on a single page. Contains some history of the U.S.S. Chetco and pictures of the ship.

Loose Photos - A basket of loose photos.

Pegs Autograph Book - Peg's high school autograph book

Peg's Paintings - I don't know when she started, but my mom did oil paintings when I was a relatively young child. She stopped at some point, and then after retiring started again. She was at one point the president of the New Port Richey art guild, and participated in their various showings and sales. These are photos of some of her paintings, some of which are now in various relatives house's, some of which are unaccounted for, maybe sold.

Documents - Various documents, birth, marriage, death
